At the suggestion of one of my Tallahasseemusclecar.com friends, I joined and have been reading this site for several years. Figured I was on here enough to start contributing, so...
Car is a Kona Blue '96 Cobra. It was a totally stock black on black car that I picked up near Atlanta back in 2003 and drove in the Tallahassee, Orlando and Tampa areas.
The front needs to be dropped a bit more and the wheels are more than dated. When the car is clayed and it's under the lights, it's a beautiful metallic blue/purple (blurple?).
It has morphed quite a bit since I purchased it with 50K on the clock
Color change to 2010 Kona Blue with a Saleen Heat Extractor hood, shaved decklid and dark tint
17" Steeda Ultralite I wheels in silver
Black cloth Corbeau CR1's inside
Forged Teksid shortblock built by Jake Lamotta when I worked for him at Lamotta Performance
Front suspension is Griggs K for Incon twin turbo kit and Griggs control arms, Koni yellows w/coilover kit, MM camber caster plates, solid rack bushings
Rear suspension was IRS, but after I couldn't get rid of the wheel hop in '04 I swapped to a solid w/Moser axles, T2R diff, SVO cover, Bilsteins/H&R race springs
Upgraded the cooling system to 2004 radiator and fan when the 1996 fan controller ate the first motor
B heads were done by Chris Starnes at Champion and upgraded with Comp springs
Exhaust was BBK LT's, offroad H and Super 40 series Flowmasters. Changed back to stock manifolds, offroad H and American Thunder catback w/Bullitt tips
I was building it with the intention of Open Tracking it, but it's really just a fun street car that I can't drive fast on the street. I have all of the Incon components except for the turbos, so it's sitting in a box. It's one of five or six kits that were ever assembled for mod motors, so I really want to run it when it's ready. I still need a fuel system too. One of these days...
