alright kinda need some advice here. i jsut started my second job and finally pulling insome money. i first got to replace my rear bumber and brake lights (embarassing story) but i was wondering what would be the best low price mod i could do. ive been told the pi swap but that seems like it would be like 500 or more. maybe a lil pricey for me. but if not the pi swap how much would a tuner help.

ill be able to give you a direct answer in a few days. My SCT Xcal3 from Lasota should be here this week. lol.
i would imagine the PI swap would be a much greater difference though.

The tune won't be that big of a difference, nothing like a full PI swap.

There's a set-up for sale right now in the classifieds. It probably will be more than 500, let's see, head's, 250, cams 50, intake 100, gasket kit 125, misc 30. Put's you at 555, not too shabby, save longer.

The BEST thing you can do is Gears!! before bolt on stuff.

then next would be the PI IM. much beyond that your looking at a blower or PI headswap.

if you dont have the money for a full pi swap just do it part by part. first do the manifold/cams. later on down the road do the heads.

gears o/r mid pipe, tuner

save up for full pi swap..

I went from 96 to 98 mph trap with tune, pi intake, tb,plenum

then went from 98 to 102 with a o/r h pipe, no subs or back seat..and it was colder...but the o/r pipe was probably good for 2mph trap and 20 hp.

say what you want...but my car with the only change being catted straigh pipe mid pipe to o/r h pipe I went from a 98 mph trap to 102 mph trap...Ill say 2 mph was the cold air but the other 2 mph was the pipe...

I already had the long tubes...then put the o/r pipe on.

Best bang for buck mod there is IMO

ya so i think im sold on the pi swap. besided the classifieds could i just got up to the dealership and ask for a set of cams and intake for say an 03 04 gt? seems to good to be true

I know going from 6 cats to 0 is a huge difference, but lets specify. 20 crank hp possibly? no way 20rwhp from a midpipe. you dont even get that from longtubes on a n/a car.

+1 on going with aftermarket cams! Check out VT, Crower, Comp, ...

ya thats what im thinkin either that or REALLY saving up and getting either a cobra motor or forged pistons and stuff in that catagory

well you should come up with a goal for your car. If you just want to max the motor out then you can go in one direction. If you really want to make crazy power then go a different direction. is the car a DD street car or track car or what

you could go with a similar type plan im gonna go with, PI headswap/aftermarket cams and then roughly 100 shot of the nitrous. PI headswaps+aftermarket cams can net you 300 rwhp and a 100 shot on most modulars for some reason adds like 110 hp. lol. with my tuner(and a spare set of plugs) during the week i can run my economy tune, the when i go to the track on the weekend i can swap the plugs, change the tune, and spray the shit put of it.

thats one reason i like nitrous, daily driver on steroids for the weekend. the Xcal3 and plugs play a big role in makin that idea work though
