Motor Mount Question

Can someone helpme diagnose if my motor mounts are bad? The motor shakes pretty good, and ive had numerous issues with midpipe hitting the crossmember. Is the motor supposed to move alot? Im looking toget some poly mounts for the motor and tranny prolly. Any help?

definitely your mounts. It is definetly not supposed to do that.

Ha, thats what I figured. Its bad enough to shake the car at idle, and the shifter shakes decently as well. Enough to see the motor moving with the hood open. I suppose I will be shelling out some cash for those here soon. Ha. I would think it needs a tune however it did it before the top end swap. Which I found weird. Any suggestions on what to get and best way to install?

Oh as well, would solid mounts be too much for a daily driven car?

if your motor is shaking that bad at an idle you may want to check your balancer they are known to go bad the rubber starts to come out and throws the balance off.had it happen to 2 of my own cars and one of my friends.just something to check.

I have taken that into consideration as well. Might just be worth replacing for some safety.
