Mpg questions.

Mine got 24mpg going to Atlanta Dragway (110 miles each way ) and back home this past weekend. 3.73 @ mostly 80 mph.

You got to be kidding lol , how is it possible for you guys to get higher milage than when the car said it made new with 3.73 gears and driving at 80mph, it just seems a bit odd.

gas gauge might be off. fill it up, drive till almost empty, then fill up and divide miles/gallons put in.

should have built a 410 then! lol, damn dude, impressive city mpg. the t-56 would help with hw a lot too!

A t-56 has the same final output ratio are a t-5. you just have to shift one more time to get there.

Some t-56 and some t-5 have close to same .62 vs .63. Others are a bigger difference of wide ratio t-56 .50 vs t-5 .63 or a tko 600 with .82.

Wrong. my 5th is .74
my 6th is .50
a T-5 5th is .62

Screw it, yesterday the needle was on top of E before i got more gas and the final milage was 195, the last time i put gas in it prolly had about 2.5 gallons left on the tank and i put an extra 10 gallons in so not quite full, so thats around 16 to 17 MPG mixed driving, not ideal but not as bad as i though, atm i got no cash to fill it up again to measure correctly so i just put 5 gallons only just to get home.

The numbers on the window sticker are never right. Thats what the govt. and the car maker agree on. My Dad had a new 90 model 5.0LX that the window sticker said 16/18 city/hwy mpg. We drove it from Atlanta to Louisiana twice and it got 27 mpg cruising at 70 mph. My Mystic got 25mpg on a trip to Valdosta, Ga. (180 miles each way) with 3.27's in it and I got 23.8mpg with 3.73's this past weekend and I ran around 80 most of the trip.

In 2005, back when my car was mostly a stock 3.8 v6 (had a k&n, 17x9 and 17x10.5 wheels, plus some aerodynamic body pieces) I drove from TX to FL with cruise control the whole way, about 75mph and got 25mpg. I was actually quite upset considering the sticker claimed 29hwy and I had new spark plugs and wires. But they probably do those tests at 55mph on a treadmill with no wind, traffic, or hills.

Around 20mpg in town. Drove to San Antonio couple of weeks ago and got 29.5mpg on the highway running 80-85 whole way. Sitting stock with the original 2:73 gear though!

With my motor setup and 3.08s I can get 237 miles on a tank and thats with the occasional beating on it in town. If I stay off it I can go past the 300 mark. Thats why we take the wifes Cruze everywhere, 33-36 mpgs
