MPG?

This has probably been covered, and if so could somebody point me to the right thread, but any of you stock guys, 2 valve or 4 valve 4.6's, what do you get for fuel economy... I have been getting anywhere from 25-29 in my stock 96 cobra, and it seems a bit high... Not complaining one bit, but just wondering if i got a freak cobra or if everybody gets this... I used to drive a 92 Towncar with a 2 valve 4.6, and got like 18 MPG when i behaved.. Did not expect a cobra to do better...

Thats pretty normal for the cobras...even the gts with the 2.73s are doing that.

One guy did 34 mpg on the highway in his 2v gt.

25+- on the highway is achievable fairly easy with these 4.6s

1996 4.6L V8 - stock non-PI heads+intake.

mods:
intake, pulleys, 4.10s, aluminum driveshaft, spec stage 2 clutch, moser 31 spline axles, eaton posi, short throw shifter, screamin' deamon coils, taylor wires, NGK plugs, FRPP shorty headers, bassani catted x-pipe, flowmasters, +suspension crap.

'98 GT 5 spd. w/ 3.27:1's. Only engine mod is a CAI. On paper showed 27.5 mpg mixed DD to work every week, all last summer.

i get an average of 18mpg, but i do a lot of city driving. When i go on long drives on the freeway though, my gas mileage is way better

my car gets on average 13 city and 18 highway. but mine is pretty far from stock.

I get 25-26 highway on long trips. My normal driving I get between 18-22 My only mod is 3:73 gears.
