Ok u guys have known my mods, I have a scan gauge on the steering column that I have set on mpg...... Now I know the 4.10s will suck for mpg but getting 15 on the highway?!?!

Is there a way the gauge could be wrong?

The gauge is never going to be super super accurate. If you want to know your MPGs, keep track of your mileage at fillups and do the math.

Don't go by the gauge as Duh said. I get about 21-22 MPG on the highway with 3.73's.

That doesn't sound too far off.. just go through a tank and check. Though, your odometer probably won't be right...

Problem with that is If I come to a stop, I just can't keep my foot out of it at acceleration

It's all in how you drive. My 2000 gt with a procharger p1sc I got 16/17 mpg. My dad had to drive it for a mo an got 24 mpg. It's all in how much foot you put in it.

Side not I drive a 94 impreza daily am use to run 75/80 on the highway, I have dropped it back to 70 an went from 20 to 23 mpg. You just have to find the sweet spot for mpg.

i get pretty good mileage considering im running 4.10's in mine too. i got 21avg last time i was on the highway, and that was with a bad vac leak. my around town tends to suck because i really dont go very far so the car gets started and stopped alot, and with those dirty 4.10's i too find it hard to not mash the throttle lol

Sounds about right to me. I got 20 mpg with 3.27's doing 80 mph on the interstate. 18 was much more common. I think with the 3.73's now I get 18 or so on the interstate, haven't drove many long trips since the gear swap though........

Sounds a little low. My buddy has a mach 1 with lt, underdrive pulleys, jlt cai, intake spacer, 4.10 gears and he gets around 18mpg on highway. My gt has ported heads, non pi bottom end, cams, lt, cai, 3.27 gears still and I average around 25mpg on highway going 70. Alot of it has to do with how you drive if I go 80 my mpg drops to around 22.

Have you compared the MPH on the scangauge with a GPS to be sure it's correct?

If I am driving "nice" on the highway I am into the 20's for MPG and I have 4.10's also

Not against a GPS but the speedo is about one or two MPH higher

in phoenix we would just drive by the mobil radar units they woudl put on the side of the road. They didn't take pics but told you your speed so that was how we checked out stuff out.

If your scangauge has the wrong MPH reading then obviously MPG reading will be off as well

Are you using the instant MPG or overall? I generally have mine set to instant MPG and either TPS or LD so I can see exactly how my use of the loud pedal affects the MPG
