Do you hear the starter trying to engage? Does it make any noises at all? Check your ground on the block, make sure it has a good end on it and a good connection.

no it dosent try to engage, where on the block is it grounded too ? could it also be the switch on the clutch ? that acts like a nuetral safety switch ?

the block i beleive has 3 grounds. floow the ground wire off the battery. make sure both battery cables are clean, corrotion free, and have a secure connection.

test the battery and check the water level.

use a tester light on the starter maybe?

$70.00 key from Ford?
check the wires to the starter. if jumper cables can do it, it appears that its between teh battery and starter (easy check, just look at the cables and the connections.)

if not, its between the igntion+key and starter.... not so easy to check....

Mine was grounded on the driverside motor mount. I had the same issue your talking about, and it was a bad ground.
