Mustang Noob11 Just bought sct tuner chip...

Ok i just bought this mustang last week its a 2001 4.6 gt. a buddy of a buddy had a sct chip the one that plugs into the ecu and has different tunes on it.... To my understanding if his vehicle is still tuned on it, it wont work on mine??? Also it has preset tunes, and if i want customer tunes i pay someone with a dyno to do so for me correct???

If his car is still tuned by that chip then they are married and the chip is useless to you unless you send it to get cleared which can be expensive.
