would be close but I would say the 96 since gears and o/r pipe are like the best shit ever on our cars ..and by intake you mean cai? or pi intake?

My buddy had a '93 Cobra with 14,000 miles on (bone stock) it and swapped over to an OR pipe and lost almost 4MPH in the 1/8. I guess they help out a lot more on the mod motors?

Generally freeing up a restriction equals more HP

usually an o/r mid pipe is good for a couple tenths from the stock 4 cat/ 2 resonator setup

No, nothing was wrong with the car. He ended up putting an Incon kit on it and then returning it to stock and selling it with 22k miles on it. It ran good stock, TTd, and stock again. Less restriction doesn't always mean more power I suppose.

Those runs were the same night. He swapped the pipes at the track between runs. Like I said, it could be a whole different story with a 4.6? I dunno. He talked me out of installing my OR until I have the turbo on it. I had it sitting around so I was going to throw it on.

uh depending on which turbo kit you get you wont need the mid-pipe...
its replaced by a Y pipe

this is the best part. both mustang get made fun of on a mustang forum. :hammer: we will race, but only when the track opens up. FYI at 17, street racing will kill our driving records and we'll both lose our liscences. ( the 5.0 belongs to my friend) so were trying to be sumwhat reasponsible and save it for the track.

Really?

no lol , it may come into just one pipe at some point but it won't become the y pipe your thinking of. of course with almost all the turbo kit's i've seen they've had to make a custom mid pipe or custom turbo kit lol

ok, just my luck. we rode i each others cars one after another. as an unofficial race. 1st gear roll then nail it. the 4.6 kept you in the seat better. and then the 5.0 felt kinda sluggish afterward. but now, haha he's going to put in his dads 4:10's out of there race car. now it power and with those, he would win. with mod for mod the same. whats better 4.6 or 5.0?

yea...4.10s will make his car a total differant animal

Are you trying to ask that with comparable mods which would be better?

5.0s are a lot cheaper to make power but mod for mod theyre comparable....

I mean you do HCI in a 5.0 and HCI in a 4.6 they should make about the same power but the 4.6 will cost a lot more
