I do mine as kinda all around driving. I don't get gas in town cause they will rape you @ the pump. If I drive 20 miles one way to the south, I save @ least .15 a gallon. Before I took my car into the body shop, I was getting about 18 MPG. Now I'm lucky to get 16 MPG. Before, though, I never ran my A/C!! Now, kinda do. Is that the difference in that #? I always keep the AC @ the lowest setting. I turn to to Max, then to normal once it gets cold. I think I read that somewhere?

It's 80% in town miles I drive. Just hwy when I need to make a gas/Wal-Mart run. That is either 40 miles or about 100. If I need other than WM stuff, I go to my nearest city. I don't care @ all about my MPG, just keep it to know if something is wrong with my car. Thanks!!

The a/c could easily cost you 2 mpg running it in town and stuff.

The only thing I can say is maintenance for gas mileage...if youve done your plugs, fuel filter, etc. then you should be fine.

16 mpg sounds pretty good for around town anyway

I had a tune-up on 7/31/06. Only 14K miles ago, though. Once I typed it, I figured that was normal by running my AC. I'm now such a puss!! Let's see, in '08 is when my top opened while driving 45 MPH. I could not lower it any that year, had to run my air. It was just in the body shop for 7 months. Used mom's Jetta or dad's chevy truck, AC. I'm just used to running my air, I guess. It just gets hot. Such a drama queen wuss now!!

Thanks!!

I hear ya man, I live over by Tyler TX and with the humidity you can't go without A/C, it's a killer. That may be what's been hurting my mileage some too. One question though.. how did your top just open? Don't see how that works.

Yeah, you are not the only one shaking their head over that! The guys that did the work, thinks my LH latch broke. I knew it was harder to close, just thought is was my weak-ass self. I now know that is a sign that it needs to be replaced! I had to buy a donor top from a salvage yard. All that was wrong with mine was like the side rail pieces. Sorry, that's been 2 years ago. I am sure that was it though! I was just heading out of town. About that time it just flew open! My brain now just not work like y'alls does. It took maybe 3 seconds for it to sink in what was actually happening! I got t closed to about a 15" gap. I held it & limped it to my mechanics, about 1/2 a mile? I had to call my dad to help, we got it closed! It took all we had, but we got it! I could not even unlatch it until it was fixed! I had it fixed 60 miles to my north. I drove it @ about 45 all the way there. It messed up once before, didn't again though. Freaked me out!

Dude your lucky in town i get anywhere from 12mpg to 13.5 mpg. I live 7 miles from work. Now when i was moving up here to Norfolk on the Highway i got 26mpg and that's with the AC full blast the whole trip with a fully loaded car and 3 dogs in the car also.

I never really drive that crazy & fast, anymore! I don't even drive the speed limit, unless I've got a time to be somewhere. I drive about 60-65. I just figure not driving the limit is better for my car. Plus, I'm never in a hurry to get where I'm going. The more time I'm in my car, the best.

I always drive with the A/C set to maxe and leave it there. If switched to normal your a/c has to work harder to cool the outside air before it hits you. Using max recirculates cabin air so the compressor does not work as hard. If it's to cold adjust fan settings and and adjust the temp settings.

Also driving 20 miles one way to save 15 cents a gallon is insane since you pretty much burn the saving on your way back home and just added unnecessary miles to your car. Thats what $1.50 total (assuming 10 gallon fill up) you saved by driving 20 miles one way, @2.25 a gallon (using prices in SC for reference) and (assuming you get 25 miles highway) it cost you about $2.03+/- each way.

I always need something @ Wal-Mart anyhow. It's just not for gas.

I never ran my air before like 07. Being on the lowest, is more than not at all. I'd love to get back to conv down driving, I'm too big of a puss now.

I just did a short trip to the beach and ended up using roughly 1/2 a tank for 180 miles.....

Pretty good considering the whole supercharged v8 with a stall and 3.73 gears.

usually a full tank is like 13 gallons for me so 6.5/180 is like 27.5 mpg

too bad when im in town or messing around Im probably gettin 7 mpg

What kinda sucks right now! My gas gauge just not move @ all. I also never try & let it get below 1/2 a tank. I have no idea how many miles I can get out of a full tank. Anybody know about how many miles I could get? I think I have a 24 or 36 gallon tank?

Had like 173 or 183 on it today when I filled up. I had 18.7 MPG. I was happy with it. It has been beautiful weather here, so I've not ran my A/C.

On this tank, I had a lot more hwy miles.

We supposedly have a 15 gallon tank but I have never been able to get past 14 on a good day. The most I've gotten from a full tank of gas was about 240 miles mostly highway about 4 1/2 hour drive in about 85* weather. Roughly 60 miles per 1/4 tank. Hopefully ceramic coated long tube headers and prochamber mid pipe will increase mpg.
