The clear is still drying/curing and I need to wet sand/polish it after but my lastest project is almost ready to be installed. Here is my latest edition to my clock pod. See who can guess what it is?

the blue really came out with the camera but in person it is not so bright. I might add a little bit of black candy/lense-tint on it to take it out but I have had issues with that of the display comming out cloudy and I don't want that.

Tew was right by the way it is a new radar detector and from what I can read the best out right now, the passport escort 9500ci. So those of you that were curious enough to check the price, I didn't pay that its one of the benifits of working in the 12v industry for a little while - you get to know other techno-geeks that tend to sell their stuff long before its old. And now for those that are wondering what that price tag buys you, well for one thing.

It features front/rear laser shifters so that when a laser speed gun is pointed at it, it will read an error as well as alarm me. It also combines a GPS system into a super advanced radar system. If I drive past the store that sets off my detector everytime, it will read the freq of the system as well as note its location on gps and after the third time I drive by it, it will block out that signal from then on. Now even if a cop sits in their parking lot shooting radar, it will recognize the new signal in the old location and alert me rather then ignor it as normal. Cool huh?

I decided I didn't like the blue oval. My original idea was to make it look like the audio/power display that I made above the radio where its all behind a perfectly flat plexi window. So after a little more work, and in bad lighting of course I finished it tonight and here is what the display looks like off.

I got the front laser/radar reciever and the dual laser shifters installed over the weekend. They were really well designed and could not be easier to install. I am hoping to work on the rear section tonight/tomorrow and get pics of all the stuff on the outside.

turned it on with the lights out last night and decided I still was not happy with the way it looked. Have I mentioned I can be anal about how stuff in the car looks? I didn't like how it shined through the old display illuminating the oval so I had to make a 3rd and thankfully a final change.

I took out a whistler pro 3450 remote radar system that also integrated the display into the clock pod. It was in perfect working order I just found this one at a good price and upgraded.

If you can get the other one from him, do it. Scotts work is beyond normal quality. Ten fold.

That is just beautiful man! Great job!

Belber, I believe 94-97 cars have clock pods, meh, my 99 has one with a radar detecotr in it too ;p (don't look at mine, not as good as scotts haha)

got the mount for the control panel ready. its going in the spot where the coin holder use to go and flush mounted into an aluminum panel.

Not sure how I will finish it yet. I could just slap some black paint on it and call it a day but for some reason seems to easy. It would match the fog light switch with the exception that the control panel is back lit blue. Should I swap to a blue led in the switch and keep the cover easy and just go black? I considered making a ring to go around the outside of it and polishing it to go on top of the black, maybe do the same thing for the fog light switch as it would match the polished bezel around the shifter and the switch panel in the ash tray. Whatcha think?

That is badass! I might integrate a clock pod into my 00 just for that reason!

But if I looked up the right thing... That badass piece of mechanical engineering cost almost half of what I paid for my car lol..
