I did this back when i first got the car was either my 3rd or 4th mod.. cant remember now.. but basically i got tired of people complaining they couldnt find the window switches, L/U button or the door handle.. so i decided to do something about it..i solved this problem by getting couple Blue 5mm Resistor LED's and installed them.. and have loved them ever since... adds a unique touch to the car.. (im surprised ford didnt backlight the switches.)

I like that a lot, nice job. I really like the one by the door handle b/c nobody will pretty much ever see it even if they are looking around.

Yeah it's funny. Every girl who gets in and out at night always goes... "where's the handle" ahhahaha (thinks of dane cook's skit) HAHAHA
I personally wouldn't do it just cuz it looks like ricerish to me. But I do give you a lot of props man! it's a clean setup and you did a great job. Maybe i will get to see them if you come out and chill with jason and i one weekend *and maybe chris*

yup.. ya hit exactly why it did it that way too.. i wanted to keep them hiding.. outta site outta mind so to speak.. whats funny is i had a no-knowlege mustang guy (meaning someone who never been in one or knew about them) in my stang once when i kicked the lights on.. he was like "DUDE THIS IS AWSOME!!! Did it come factory like that?" lol uhhh nope lol...

lol i think its ironic you mentioned that about the girls always saying that cuz most the people that said it were girls i was giving rides to.. lol had a couple guys ask the same thing though lol..

some people like them some dont.. doesnt bother me though.. just matters that i like em..

yeah hopefully youll get the chance too.. they look best at night though.. during the day they dont show very much.. added side effect i noticed though was that the one that points down onto the door handle lights up the floor nicely..

Door handle is a good idea. I can't tell you how many times people are just sitting there looking for the handle in the dark. I have to flip the lights on, to show them where it is most times.

That sounds a bit tedious, but then again I don't know how else you could have done it.

Good job on the install. It looks clean.

it was really.. hardest part of it was running the wire from one side of the car to the other in 1 continuous string..

to tap into the dash lighting i just took a wire tap and cuz they pre-wire the entire car for all the buttons i had the plug for the Traction Control button.. since those buttons there light up i just taped into the Blue & Red wire (dash lights wire) there..and between that and the LED lighting i have a inline 1amp fuse.. so if something happens itll blow before the dash's stock fuse does keeping the dash lit.. and the LED's are just grounded to the doors... pretty easy to do really..

I meant more that you had to turn on your headlights/driving lights in order to help someone get out of your car was a little tedious. :dunno: Like I mentioned before though, I don't know what else you could have it connected to in order to allow the lights to come on while the car is off, when people are actually getting out of the car. Maybe tap in at the ignition to one of the wires that gets power during the first "click" of the key. Hm. I may have to do some experimenting.

only time they need to be on is at night.. usually im the last to get out.. and i turn the lights off as im getting out.. most the time i have people in my car that cant find it im normally dropping them off at their house or somewhere... during the day they can find it.. its at night they seem to have the problem... lol

Haha, I dunno, I can't help but to think that they would be rather annoying(?) or possibly distracting at night when you're driving being surrounded by blue lights. Seems almost dangerous since you wouldn't be able to see headlights as well. I can't help but to think of when I used to go on roadtrips with my family, and whenever it got dark out we would turn the lights on, and my mom would yell at us about how she couldn't see anything.. :blah2:

:dunno:

Again, I think that they are really slick. I just wouldn't want them on all the time when my headlights were on if it were in my car.

nahh after couple days theyre like anything else.. they just get ignored.. i hardly ever notice them anymore.. they dont blink or anything they just steady burn.. radio has lit #'s and words (if aftermarket) on it and that doesnt distract ya so why would lights... i can still see the road just fine..

matter fact my gauge cluster is brighter than they are... even did a 8 hr trip with them on didnt notice them one bit..
