looks like you're using duplicolor self etching primer, filler and probably intend to use their wheel paint, I had really bad luck w/ that combo on the recoat window. you have to really watch it or the out gassing will really screw you over and you'll have to strip it back down to bare. best luck i had was w/ the etch and top coat and no filler.

i didn't have that issue w/ their regular paint, only the wheel paint.

No im going base coat clear on the the wheels with a 2k filler primer i have painted wheels b4 and i would love to do the gold but the my car is going to be all white and i have all smoked lights so im going with a gunmetal and 4 coats of clear. The nice thing about my two wheels is they are not chrome and in great cond so they will take me no time buut im only doing this two rims at a time my paint booth is too small i played hell painting a hood for a guy in there.

Win the other wheel is going to be a full size spare that will be painted the same but just have like a 245/40/18 on it.

Also i would to gold as i had a white 240sx with gold sportmax wheels and loved it. But the wifes like is this a 240 if you want gold rims get another 240. She wants me to re chrome them so im going to do the gunmetal but i still need to buy the paint so i will see what they got on the discount wall ( way cheaper and they are add color to them) so we will see.

I always thought paint on wheels was just for inserts and such and would have expected that even mounting the tire could damage the paint enough to be visable?
