My stang runs again

Ok This is what I have but i am pretty unhappy on how it runs. PI cams, p&p Pi intake,p&p thottle body, p&p heads, Long tubes, cattless h and 3:73's. I have no tune. I ran my friends 05 Rsx Type-s yesterday and I would pull about 4-5 cars on him from 40. I think my car was faster without the cams. Am I wrong is something not right on my car or do I really need that tune.

Minor I got rid of the lip where the injectors fit in. I just rounded it off and cleaned up any casting marks

I dont get it... Did you do the Full PI swap or just changed your cams. First, if you did the full swap, your car HAS to run faster. Second, if you only did cams, and by reading what you posted, if they are stock pi cams you don't need a tune (it would help 2 have it ). Third, if you went with higher cams, then depending on their duration, YES you will need a tune, if not the car doesn't responed how it should. Hope this helps..... :thumb:

My friend has a 98 GT vert and I still pull him by 2 cars and he has PI H/C's/Intake. I dont see doing the swap now. And no i wasnt spraying. My mods are in sig and he has...... PI Swap, Accufab Plenum w/75mm Throttle Body Combo, Shorty Headers :hammer:, MGW Shifter, 3.73 Gear and can drive pretty good. So thats why I dont know about the swap :dunno:

Probably because you have a coupe and he has a vert.

It's not just about immediate power from the PI swap. There's more power potential there.

I know i was about to say but add a power adder to it and PI swaped car is GONE!! Hince my motor i am builing now in sig lol

I would say you need a tune...you have changed so much shit that your computer doesnt know how to react....

I would say get a tune and go from there.

Or atleast get it on a dyno and get the a/f checked out

Not doubting you but something was up there....what was this race like?

Did you guys actually go from like 0-100?

His car should be much faster than yours...so maybe he desperately needs a tune or just cant drive.

My brothers PI car pulls SO MUCH HARDER than mine up top....mine feels like it dies at like 4500 which it does lol

My brother-in-law has a 2000 GT 5spd, and I take him and other PI GT's around town all the time on the street. But when I run him for 1/4 mile are longer he pulls on me. I think the NPI's have a better low end and the PI's get us up top.

All I have done to my car is 4.10's, O/R H, catback, and shift kit, and probably a better stock tune because its a police interceptor.... and its an auto.

Thats one reason why I never panned on doing the whole swap just the cams and intake.... but now Im looking harder into the 5.4 swap.

Youve got 4.10s which is probably whats giving you the advantage....

NPI with 4.10s will definately pull a stock PI with 3.27s down low

PI with 4.10s vs a NPI with 4.10s and the PI should pull the NPI everywhere IMO

I have everything pi except for the heads they are p&p. I am going to try to get my car on the dyno tomorrow. I am going to look at my o2 sensors and see how lean they are.

FWIW: NPI heads flow a tad better than PI heads @ .500 and .550

Between about 3500-5000rpms is where it's most noticeable.
