So.. I dropped the ball and didn't paint my engine bay when the motor was out. Short of yanking the motor, do I have any options for sprucing things up? I want to paint whatever I can..

There are some things I want to do:

1) There's some surface rust under the brake booster I'd like to address.
2) paint the booster when I remove it.
3) powder coat accessory brackets
4) install black alternator
5) aluminum coolant puke tank/oil catch can

What you don't know is I came very close (so close, that my wife still gives me shit to this day) to selling my '95 GT and owning a Comp Orange Mach 1...

Move the coil to the fire wall.. I'm about to do that..
You can paint the alternator your self.. I done it.. About to do it again.
Redo your vacum lines using pushlock fittings im also doing that.
Hide as much of your driver side wires as possible..
Change those hideous heater hoses.
Mask as much as possible and rattle can it.. Will look much better..

Thanks RZ, I will be looking for the coil relocation pics. Did you take the alternator apart to paint it?

I masked everything off and painted the bay in this one. Turned out great too. If you dont plan on daily driving it ditch the windshield washer tank too. I never take my alternators apart when painting and Ive done 4 of em now. Just take small pieces of tape and shove them into each hole. Then once its cured tak some tweezers and pull the tape out. I heard you take a risk of screwing up the brushes when you take em apart?? :undecided:

That's how I did mine like Chris said . And yea you can mask the bay and make it look pretty good. These cars are super easy to wire tuck as well . That would clean up a shit ton . You could always wait till you decide to paint the car and quickly pull the motor and trans in a few hours and get them to shoot the bay

I ran wiring inside fenders and and the headlight harness and stuff instead of being on the back side of rad support moved to the front side . I also removed the washer fluid resivoir . If I were to do it again I would have made my fuse box more accessible .
