Hey y'all, been lurking for a while and finally decided to join up. I'm from right around the Road Atlanta area and have 2 stangs in the stable right now.

Here's the first one: '95 GT, Canary Yellow/Black cloth, 5.0, 5-speed, 2.73 (for now), 167k miles. She's ROUGGHHHH mechanically. Body/interior are real nice, but pretty much everything underneath needs to be rebuilt. This was my DD until today, she'll be my and my dad's toy now

How I picked her up

How she sits now

What I picked up today, '97 Crystal White/Black leather Cobra. 111k miles, 4.6, 5-speed, 4.10 gears, basic bolt ons. Sooooo much fun, she's my new DD
Sitting at Summit Racing in McDonough right after we finished up paperwork

After a quicky wash once I got her home

Here's where I wanna go with her, definitely gonna swap the FRs onto the white car and plastidip them gold, on the fence about the black roof. Love the hood too, it's JBs old car on SVTP

Here's some of my previous rides:
'94 Fobra, 5.0, 5-speed, 3.73 gear, Canary Yellow/Black leather, bolts ons, etc. Never shoulda sold her

Coyote I bought last fall and sold this spring:

Love the site guys, looking forward to this being my new home :eek:ccasion14:

I'm a sucker for yellow lol

welcome to the site!

JBs car is from here not svtp lol.. well its both but he started here.

Its a good car to model yours after for sure mate

Ahh, didn't know that. I love his car

WELCOME TO THE MADNESS
hope to see you at the Summit show.

Hoping to make it, depends on if I can get the rearend rebuilt in the Cobra before that. Had catastrophic failure today :(

welcome dude! i say make it YOUR OWN! looks good though
Thanks! Oh, she'll be my own, but I've loved that hood long before I knew who JB was and...well, I am flat copying the wheel idea lol. But they're just pure sex on a white car

Nice.

I like the flat black spoiler on the yellow. Any plans to do some more flat black accents?

It's actually gloss black, but no, I'll be keeping the black to a minimum. Spoiler will go yellow, black tail light bezels, black bumper letters/lower bumper thing, black mirrors, black cowl panel. She'll look very similar to my old car

Pretty sure when you build a rearend, you're supposed to locktite the ring gear bolts
ayfkm.png

Drove the car all the way from McDonough yesterday, all day today no problem. On the way home from work the rearend started making all kinds of clunking noises and jerking the car a little. Limped her home, put her up on stands and popped off the diff cover and this is what I see.

ALL of them were loose/backing out. 4 had actually come all the way out and were bouncing around in the rearend, took out some small pieces of a couple teeth on the ring gear, the pinion gear, and the carrier. For the time being, gonna buy some new ring gear bolts, throw em in and fill her up with new fluids. See how she does, hoping I can rock it like that for a month or 2 till I can have the whole rearend rebuilt.

Gonna put her back together tomorrow and hopefully be able to get emissions done and go to the tag office to get her registered. Cranked her up tonight to try and pinpoint an exhaust leak, I'm 90% sure it's on the passenger side at the exhaust manifold to midpipe flange.

Anybody know how or have any tips on how to change that gasket? I was looking at it tonight, it looks like it's gonna be a b*tch lol

welcome!!! Love those sweet rides!

on the 4.6 its going to be a funny-shaped gasket if i remember correctly. A series of u-joints and extensions should help ya out on that top bolt! lol.

Thanks for the tip! I've figured out it's not the exhaust though. It's definitely something in the top of the motor/intake area hissing/making whatever funny noise that is. I made a thread a few days ago asking opinions in the 4V tech section. There's a couple videos in there if you'd like to check them out.

One theory is my IMRC's are stuck in a partially closed/open position, allowing the air to hiss around the butterflies and the car feels somewhat weak up top.

Another theory is my IAC may be the leaky culprit, as I have a CEL on for that. Gonna check into it more this weekend hopefully.
