Alright guys, I have basically rebuilt the top half of my engine. Stock heads/intake, new pushrods/lifters and frpp roller rockers and new gaskets everywhere. I've got everything back together and I cant seem to get this thing fired. I know you unplug the chip, put the #1 to TDC and point the dizzy pointer to #1. Ive tried all different positions of the balancer (its a new frpp piece with marks.) I get little burps here and there but nothing of a runing motor. Could you guys throw out some ideas of what could be wrong/ or missing or anything? And yes its getting fuel and spark. I'm out of ideas really, Thanks for any info.

I thought that could be the problem, but I thought the dizzy could only go in one way. As in the plug thing faces out towards you when your looking at the motor. Am I wrong?

Pull the dizzy and turn the motor over until you get the number 1 cylinder back up to tdc your motor could be 180 out. As long as the motor is tdc you can pick where number 1 on the dizzy is as long as thats where you put the number 1 plug wire and point the rotor button torwards it.

Ok, Everytime I rotated the engine I left the dizzy in. Then pulled it out and put the pointer twards the #1 cylinder. But Blown95GT: Do I point the pointer twards the cylinder itself or to where the #1 plug on the cap is?

You have to pull the dizzy, turn the motor until you get the number 1 cylinder back up top then stab the dizzy again. Just make sure that the rotor button is pointed at the number 1 plug wire, and you have the firing order correct.

Thanks for the info and link guys. Another things that has be scratching my head is... I have a new Frpp balancer and the marks on say BTC and to the left of that is where the numbers start. I would assume btc means before top center. But I have always heard it refered to as top "dead" center. Any gueses as to why its like that? or is that the correct mark to start with?
