I'm trying to change the start up screen on my head unit to this ford emblem, and it has to be the correct format.

I called kenwood and they said it has to be a JPEG file, with a bit map format(?), r5 g6 b5, 800x480. I am photoshop illeterate and getting very frustrated with it lol

HELP!!

if you have photoshop, just open the image you want.
go to edit > image size, and change the dimensions to 800x480

then click apply.
then go to file, save as, and at the bottom, for file type, save it as a 'jpg'.

if you need further help, let me know.

It's already the correct dimensions, and it's a JPEG but I don't know where the Bitmap part comes in. RGB is a way to choose color but 5, 6, 5 is basically black...interested to see what they are actually asking you to do...

in that case, you have to convert it to bit map, which means it will have to be in grayscale no matter what.
does the stereo you bought have colors? or is it just b&w?

That's what I don't understand either. They want a jpeg file, and bitmap format. I thought it was one or the other?? I've already called em twice to confirm..
