I just installed an H\C\I on my 94 gt. GT40p heads, cobra intake, e303 cam. My FPR is set at 40lbs. The problem is : I start the car, he's running rough but still Ok... Few minutes later, the headers are burning my wires. They are RED and they are too hot. It's not normal and I'm wondering what it is.

Can someone help me with this pls!

No I didn't get any tune. But he's suppose to run ok without a tune for the moment. The fpr is at 40lbs and the timing at 10.
I got used 24lbs injectors maybe they're not working well?

Red headers is from a RICH issue ryan.

and its likely a timing problem. either disty or cam

My headers were red as a mofo when I got my car running... rechecked my timing, and I was about 2* advanced.... not sure how that happened

Doh, i always thought lean = hotter, oh well I tried lol

You are exactly right. Lean conditions cause high cyl temperatures, rich low temperatures. If the O2's sense a high exhaust temp it throws a lean code for that bank.

Come on guys!

Yes factory timing on 94-95 cars is 10 around 14-15 is where you want to be with H.C.I.....10 is where most tuners use place depending. A lean issue is a hotter motor however retarded timing will ignite the fuel as the exhaust valve is opening causing it to leak into the primary, hense glowing headers. NO 94-95 car will run worth a damn without a tune after H.C.I. It's all the emissions crap in the computer they had to conform to for the cars to be legal for sale in California.
