Okay so far we have tried a few different things to tire and get this thing going but we havent had any luck.

This off its a 94 GT, the car was tuned with a SCT chip. It had an S-trim on it. I sold the S-trim along with the chip. Now I am going back with a all motor setup. I got the whole thing put back together and now i have no fire. Here is a few things that me and some friends have done to try and solve the problem so far....

-Cleaned and re tightened all the grounds on the motor and frame
-We have tried swapping the ecu, distributor, coil, and maf with another 95 GT
-We have also tried it with and without the msd hooked up

We have power going to the coil and a ground just no fire coming out of the coil. We are starting to think that maybe when they put a chip on the car they changed around a pig tail or something to where the computer is telling the car not to send a spark out the coil. Or something like that cause we know where not getting spark. Also the car ran great before it was taken apart and all the parts we switched out came off of a running car.

Any tips or thoughts Thanks

Just as a general rule of thumb if its electical problem, the first thing I always do is check fuses. The ignition module could very well be the cause though and I think Autozone or Oreilys can test them.

does the car get any power at all? It just cranks but no start, right?

Do you get any spark if you take the plug off the coil itself and turn the key? Try pushing the plug in the ignition module in to make sure its making good contact.

Any lights inside the car working? Are you SURE the distributor is going back in correctly?

Okay here is what we checked today...

-Tried 3 different Ignition control modules
-Checked all fuses
-checked power to the distributor
-checked power to the Ignition control module

Also everything works as far as the lights and gauges. the only thing i did different to the two motors is i add a oil pressure gauge and a water temp gauge. I took the dummy water and oil pressure gauges out!

did u have a msd ignition or anything else hooked up? i have had gm's come into the shop for a nostart and it would not fire because lack of oil in the motor it kept setting oil pressure code..doubt that is you case but never know

Power to distributor? Or do you mean the wire that goes from the coil to the center dist. terminal??

i pulled the plug that goes to the distributor and i had power on one of the prongs that go into the dizzy. So i figured that mean i have power to the distributor.

it sounds like you have a friend with the same car or a donor car. Might try swapping pcm's

So then it is cranking, just not firing over?
Distributor is probably out of position.
I say pull the distributor, verify top dead center and restab it.

I think he means not firing as in no spark. Which even if the distributor were out of position, it would still get spark.

Yea i am not getting any spark at all. The distributor is in there right, even if not i would still get spark...And yes i do have a friend with a 95 we tried switching the ecu already. is there a difference between the pcm and the ecu?

No difference between PCM and ECU.

No spark at coil, then check the plug that goes to the coil from the wire harness. If you have that MSD in there maybe check the connections on those plugs right there at the coil as well.

You need a friend with a graphing voltmeter to check PIP and SPOUT signals real quick and easy for ya. You've got juice to the dizzy, so see if a PIP signal is being generated in the dizzy while cranking and then check if the ICM is recieving a good SPOUT signal from the ECU. Probably have a connector disco'd somewhere, or a pin pushed out.

Okay so i figured out that my EEC is not getting power to turn on. It has consistent power to #1 pin but when you turn the key Pin 37 and Pin 57 arent getting any power like they should be!

I betcha. It was probably the relay in the ccrm that kicks on when the car is being cranked so the ecm has power to it. Or a wire was broken.
