just as title states.
project is a 1981 Cadillac 368 864 eldorado coupe.
background, its the first car to come out with displacement on demand, its also on the top 20 worst cars of all time.
i just replaced the timing chain on the 368 (6.0) got it stabbed on tdc. and it wont throw any spark. i tested the ignition module and it needed replaced, local car quest even warrentied it after bs's with them about it. still no spark.
run down on tests in the dist, coil both sides have a solid 12.6 volts (red and yellow wires), battery wire has solid 12.6 volts. after new ignition mod, the side with 5 prongs has 12 volts across all of them. the side with 2 has none. the coil also tested at 750 ohms. the B prong on the 5 prong side had infinite Resistance when ground to the dist base.
all the tests pass from what the book says. I'm no fool but with no spark at all and i mean none, what could be the issue. I've also checked chassis grounds and engine grounds they were fine.
personally I've only had one Chevy with HEI and the dist happened to be the first thing i had to replace.
so any guru's able to help that would be awesome as this is a friend's car, im doing this as a favor and would like to get it figured out.
thanks all!
