I am wiring in some gauges on my 1997 GT. I bought a temperature gauge, and it came with a sending unit. My question is that is there a provision in the head or any wheres that I can screw the sending unit into place? I could tee off the stock one, but if I would rather put the sending unit supplied with the gauge in a different location.

Thanks,
Rob

I put the gauges where my stock cd player was in my 97GT. I would like to keep the stock temp gauge hooked up, so is there any wheres else I can put the sending unit with the new gauge without removing my stock one?

I have the same question... Where would one wire in an auxiliary temp gauge on a modular car?
I wanna get some gauges but I don't really know where else on the heads/block you could possibly mount the sending unit. And I really don't feel like making any extra holes in my new'n'shiny PI intake....

There is a plug in the block near the engine mount (not sure which side off hand) or you can just tee off the stock gauge. By teeing off the reading may be about a few degrees off since its not in direct flow but its not a big deal at all. Thats where i put mine since its simple. Your stock guage will work as well as the aftermarket..... heres a pic of mine with the CD Delete :D

The plug is located on the drivers side of the block to the rear of the engine mount. Thats where I put my sending unit and it works great.

I got the autometer phantom series gauge and it came with the correct fitting.

haha havent checked this thread in a while...I just ended up taking off the stock sending unit, taping off the connector, and putting the new sending unit in its place.

Topping973 that looks awesome! Was that a kit that you ordered or was it custom fabricated?
