what do you mean by normal tune, like one of those hand held tuners, but anyways a tune on the dyno is always the better way to go

Custom; and by custom I mean take it to a tuner.
No way I would trust any box or mail order tune with that setup.

There is only really two ways to do it. Get a hand held tuner and tune it yourself but you have to know what your doing and what to adjust. And a dyno tune which is the most easy and quickest way to tune a car (doing it yourself w/ a hand held tuner takes time and lots of data logging runs). The mail order tunes are crap

well, this is kind of a double edged sword, but here it is. a box tune(mail order) will get you close. close meaning that I wouldnt personally romp on it, but close enough to get to a dyno, so you can set up the MAF transfers, acceleration adder, timing, balance your AF ratio througout (setting the MAF transfer error to 3% or less) and setting up the HUEGO timing offset for LT headers, if needed. also, if it is a good tuner, he should take it for a spin and check for driveablitiy issues, like bucking and stalling.

On a side note, it took me about 2 years of constant messing around to get a tune I did myself to work perfectly in terms of driveablity.
