Recently I noticed that my rear driver side caliper was leaking fluid very badly. I bought a replacement caliper and installed it, making sure to put in the new washers but also bleed them. I tested it (on two separate occasions) by pushing on the brakes hard and looking for any leaking. I then drove the car a short bit, with the brakes feeling fine and with no leaks. I just left the car sitting now for just over 2-3 hours and the puddle of brake fluid is back. It seems that the leaking only happens when the car is sitting, and it's similar from the old broken caliper to the new one.

Where should I be looking? I put in new washers and torqued it down, and the brake line is dry (the leaking is coming from the caliper somwhere and dripping off the dust shield).

bad seal maybe? The caliper is only a piston and some seals.

Try another rebuilt caliper. 3rd times' the charm.

After more research I found that the copper washers are too big for the fitting, so Im going to the store to buy ones that are smaller to fit in that recess properly. If that does not work you are right, time for another caliper.
