It would depend on the kit. Alot of kit's automatically assume you go +.030, and alot of kit's call it by the common name, even though it's not actual displacement. The manufacturer should be able to tell you, and it should be available stock bore or +.030

Check with Scat for your rotating assembly. Decent prices, high quality, and top notch service. I'm running a Scat rotating assembly in the race car.

Yes, that is with a .030" overbore. It's a good idea to bore a block .030" when you rebuild it for the first time, particularly if its got a lot of miles on it, just to make sure the bores are perfectly round and square to the crank.

Basically all you have to do is calculate volume of a cylinder, which if you remember from high school/middle school is Pi x r^2 x length...

Radius of a 4.030" cylinder is 2.015". The radius squared is 4.06 . This figure times Pi (4.06 x 3.1417) is 12.755 . This is the area of a circle, in this case cylinder diameter in square inches. Now multiply this time the stroke (12.755 x 4") and you get a volume of 51.02 cubic inches per cylinder. Multiply that by your 8 cylinders and that makes 408.16 cubic inches.

And you thought you would never use that stuff!

You're welcome.

Mrs. Tiechman's 6th grade science class is where I learned that. It was 1976. Eeessshh.

Lol, i learned in Mrs. Vanlue's 6th grade class, in 1992 lol.

Just FYI Trav, some companies will call a standard bore kit a 408 kit just the same, it's kind of marketing, since everyone is familiar with the 408 displacement (like a Chevy 383), so make sure to ask.
