recently when my i start my car cold, my power steering pump is chirping like a damn bird. Is this a sign that it needs replacement? If so can i get some direction on how to do this myself?

I just took mine off yesterday. You need to rent or buy a powersteering pulley kit. Remove the pulley unbolt the pressure hose on the side of the pump. then unbolt the 3 star headed bolts and the pump lifts out, but still has a return hose attacted unhook it and its out.

Once you unhook the hose it will leak fluid! But mine had a leak so it already leaked most of it out. LOL

Are you sure it's not your belt?

Are you sure it's not the dizzy bearing going out. Mine made a similar sound.
Are you sure it's not the idler or tensioner pulley?

My pump makes that same sound. I was told it was going bad before I got the car though.

My belt is new cause i just changed it when i did my Aluminum pullies. The idler pulley is on the other side of the motor so i can pretty much put my ear close to the PS pump and hear it making noise when a friend turns the wheel at idle.
