take off your old accessories. if the smog is sitll hooked up, you're gonna throw a code after you take it off. but easiest way to get belt lenth is to take a piece of string, map it out around your pullies, take it off and measure it.

Short belt
air pmp went out and had to wait for it to come in so i used a short belt to bypass the pmp.
What code will it throw if you remove everything?

im taking all the hoses and lines and all that crap off then run a shorter belt and with smog pump throwing any code thats fine im not worried about that and @ paul whats the point of leaving the A/C there if the ac compressor is shot plus the thing is a drop top anyways so ill be ok =]

Replace the A/C compressor then. A/C doesn't rob any power since it just freewheels when it's off anyway, or when the car is at WOT. If you remove all of it, then when the time comes to sell it (which WILL HAPPEN) the car will be worth jack shit because it's whored out.

Don't do it. It's stupid.

oh im planning on to keep the car for a very long time lol but paul u have a point but think about it by removing the ac compressor is like a 50 pound peice of metal just think about how much stress your taking off the motor i mean its not that much of a big power gain but im just trying to do everything i can do cause my car is just to damn heavy.

It doesn't take any stress off the motor. At all. There is zero power gain from removing the air conditioning. Once the car goes wide open throttle, the A/C clutch disengages and you are no longer turning the compressor. It is just freewheeling.

You are not driving a racecar where you need every ounce of weight savings you can get. You have a fully functioning streetcar with power windows, power locks, a convertible top, power steering, and so on. Removing the A/C is just flat dumb.

Paul.
