I need motor mounts but I would like to stay with rubber mounts, the ones on the car are basically brand new but they are from autozone so they went bad as soon as the motor sat on them, I got bbk shorts that are equals so the space is tight so what happened is that as soon as I started driving the mounts sagged and the headers started hitting everywere including the steering rod so its kind of annoying. The vibrations are also way too much, it shakes the whole damn car. Anyways what are some good quality rubber mounts besides the OEM ones, I was thinking poly but they transfer a lot of vibration according to some ppl is this true ? Napa sells two kind of mounts , one is like 40ish for the pair and the other is like 80, being napa I believe they are better quality than those cheap autozone brands.

Is your car loud?? Exhaust wise?? You won't notice the vibration from the poly mounts.

I would put the poly on a street car, but not solid. Solids are way too harsh IMO. Prothane or Energy both make good stuff.

If you do get poly make sure you get the matching trans mount as well or you'll blow it out just as quickly as you put in the new motor mounts

My car has macs, so its a bit loud, probably some of the vibrations are exhaust itself. About the poly mounts, are they going to be harsh or what ? I may be asking way too much but I kind of want the car to feel like a 4.6, my brother had one and u could not feel the motor running on that thing, my car was like that for a while until the mounts went bad and I replaced them with cheap autozone mounts, I need mounts that will not sag when the engine is on them so I can have clearance between the kmember and steering rod and the headers.

im using the energy suspension poly motor mounts i like them. they actually didnt viabrate very much untill one went out due to lack of changing the tranny mount (lack of funds) thats when i started noticing a little vibration seeing how only one went out, but any who they were awesome when they were both good.

I'm installed some solid motor mounts when I was doing the engine swap. We'll see how they turn out.

I've heard convertible motor mounts are stiffer than the coupe ones but are still rubber, anyone know if there's any truth to that?

I used Anchor brand mounts. Iirc like 30 bucks. ( they were for a fox convertible)

I had to grind the tits off of them, but loved the way it sat and ran. Smooth.

If you use a poly trans mount, solid motor mounts aren't bad at all on the street. And they are cheaper. Just some .02

Those were the mounts I put on mine from autozone, as soon as I let the engine down the rubber on botth mounts sagged and basically slipped all the way to the bottom of the mount. In my opinion they are junk, but its probably cause I have equal length headers and they require more clearance than regular headers, according to the sides that sell the poly mount it says that they raise the engine so that's good.
