Hey guys. I've gotta 96 GT with an eibach pro kit. In my opinion it doesnt sit low enough. Is it a good idea to take the iso's out to make it sit lower? What are the pros and cons of taking the iso's out? Heres a pic

1st, I must say you have a nice car and i love the color! 2nd, There are some people on here that takes the isos out i have never did it, but the pros would be it would lower the car, The cons are you will get some squeaking or some sort thats what i have read. Some guys take duct Tape and rap the spring with it to keep the noise down. Anways i will let the guys that has done it let you know about it

It does drop the car a tiny bit. If you care about noise, dont do it. I have HEARD that when you remove isos the handling is better because you are dealing with the "squishy-ness" (dont know the word im lookin for) of the rubber isos.

I took out my bottom Isos because they were rotted halfway out anyways. It shouldn't squeak other than on speedbumps etc. It's not a bad squeak either.

i also have the eiback pro-kit, i dont have any ISO's in the front.

the car handles fine, and as far as noises, there are NONE.

at high speeds i think i might have felt the slightest road vibration, but barely noticable. i do a lot of city driving so i dont go faster then 40 mph on the regular.

im glad i left them out, bc im pleased with the stance now. if i left them in, i think it might have been a little to high.

*** edit, i was driving on the parkway yesterday and i correct myself, i DONT feel ANY road vibrations. maybe it was bc of the alignment?

I'm running the prokit as well with the stock iso's, but your car looks does look high. Did you let them settle or put new iso's in? Mine were already pretty much flat, so I just left them in.

Here is a pic of my car with the prokit

i think it would look a lot better with them out.

here is a better pic of mine in the front w/o the isos. this picture was taken BEFORE the rear springs were installed.

i wanted to go with sportlines too but i eventually want to get Longtubes and i didnt want clearance issues, so i stuck with the prokit.

which springs did you go with?

if you want a little more of a drop, and dont mind taking the risk of leaving them out and possibly having noises, then i would leave them out.

i dont have iso's up front and i dont get any kinds of noise at all. im also running 18's and dont have any clearance issues.

its all a matter of preference i suppose.

I'd bet money that it wasn't your springs. They are stationary and if they are installed correctly do not move.

Let me see if I can make it more plain here... My car didn't squeek. I put in new springs and struts... My car squeeked...

The springs do infact move, because they are coils, and the little pigtail does expand and contreact with compression, which is why they are isolated from the car with rubber.

i just put the pro kit on my car Sunday. i love it i left the front iso's out for look i wanted. i have not had any squeaks and it handles amazing. When you go through with it make sure you have a low profile jack lol i forgot about that one almost could not get the jack out. That is what they make wood for i guess.
