Just got around 500 bucks from my work for winning a challenge so I need some advice on what to spend it on. I have so many ideas but thought id come to the board and see what I could buy for the 02 GT that would give me my most bang for my buck.

Only thing on the car right now is a bassani catback and a CAI. The motor has exactly 2800 miles on it and a nice clean slate to work from. But I can't decide what I want to do. I got a friend selling his 3.73 gears for 120 so that might be in the works along with some headers and a h pipe but idk

Are the gears used? Sounds a little steep for used gears :dunno:

They are almost brand new, he installed them and had them on for maybe 500 miles. I'll give him a call tomorrow and see what he wants for all of it. I'll pass his number on to you. I'm not sure if he wants to move these fast.

Its cool if he doesn't want to move it fast, I'll be in the area for mustang week in july, that would be prime time to pick em up. But I could pick em up earlier than that if necessary. Just whatever you find out, let me know man I appreciate it.

used gears, even if only for a few hundred miles are a big iffy... if you've got $500, pick up this months MM&FF, they've got an article in there of top 10 things you can buy for your car performance wise for $500 or less... I'd go with a CAI, and gears. maybe a short through shifter if you've got a 5 spd. you can find shifters used online for anywhere from $100-$150.

Fixed, yeah i agree with handz on the springs it will look differet and gears will give you the good acceleration

3.73s are a waste. Get 4.10s or 4.30s

To each their own :p

Is the car an auto or a manual? if it's an auto, definately 4.10's IMO, if it's a stick, i would go with 4.10's anyways... iv'e said this in many threads, but i got my 3.90's becasue it puts me where i want to be RPM to power wise...
