My car has started popping the number one fuse under the dash. It controls the turn signals, airbags, back up lights and several other items. It pops it as soon as you turn the key to start the car. I was wondering if anybody else has had this happen or might have any suggestions. Ive been out with the car for a couple hours trying to find something causing a short but haven't found anything yet.

Have you changed anything? Messed with wires,etc...

Thats the worst part of this,I haven't changed anything, haven't even cleaned the car in a couple of weeks. We haven't had any rain or moister of anykind. I was driving to work yesterday morning and heard a pop that sounded like a fuse, next thing I know the airbag light is on. then I noticed that the turn signals weren't working either. I replaced the fuse this morning and pop goes the fuse as soon as you turn the key to start the car.

Something had to have come loose. Have you checked your battery connections :dunno:
I checked the connections on the battery,i took them off at one point to check if the airbag diagnostic module connections had come loose(didn't want to blow the airbags on top of everything else). I put them back and tightened them. I keep thinking its something loose or a wire has rubbed through and is shorting somewhere.

It also controls the airbag diagnostic module, shift lock actuator, electronic flasher, rearwindow defrost control switch, daytime running lights, transmission control switch, back up lamp switch, convertable top switch, and last but not least transmission range sensor. So correct me if I'm wrong but, I'm thinking I can rule out the transmission control switch and range sensor, shift lock actuator, daytime running lights and convertable top switch, since the car is a 5-speed coupe that doesn't have daytime running lights.
