Yep, a truck helped me with this one by kicking up a big hunk of metal today:

:tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: did he stop?? You get the tag number?? That sucks, Id say it be better to pay out of pocket rather than file a claim on your INS just incase they want to hike your premiums.

Yeah, I would stick to out of pocket!! The estimate to have my conv top fixed was $1400. I wanted to keep from filing a claim on it. I don't really have a choice though! Yours sucks though!

That sucks Mel. I have been through it with my insurance company. Make a claim under your comprehensive. It is probably a $100.00 deductable, and it won't effect your insuance rates. I have done it twice with my car.

Trucking companies are not liable for kicking up road debris.

Not the truck driver's fault. They can't help what's in the road. And I don't have comp and collision, since my car's so old, the insurance company wanted me to get an inspection on it to prove it was in good shape, and stupidly, I never got around to it so they dropped my comp and collision. It's just gonna have to look like crap until I get a re-paint in 2011.

Could try a new door?

Thought of that, but after painting to match the rest of the car, I think it would cost just as much as repairing the damage. I could really fix it, but am figuring why bother, with the two other scratches I got recently, that equals 1 door, 1 rear quarter panel, and the rear bumper, might as well re-paint the whole car. And I wanted to hold off on that until I have the hood I want.

I mean just a BAB door. Should be able to source one fairly easily, although shipping might suck.

Well, I'm actually Atlantic Blue, not BAB, and I rarely see any Atlatic Blue's, so I was thinking it might be hard to find. But maybe you're right, I might start checking the salvage sights.

that'll buff out.

lol, the same thing keeps happening to me... but all the damage happens on my right rear quarter panel lol, when i bought the car it had a dent right behind the side vent... then about a week later it got hit by a door and left a massive door ding, then at work one day i saw the lady hit my qp with her door so i confronted her about it at the next stop light after i caught up with her and she denied it... lol... i got her license plate and got her address from it... hehe u know what happens next, and then one of my friends hit there door on it, so i can't really be mad about that.

That sucks even more. I figured you had full coverage.

I did have full coverage, and never minded paying for it, but the insurance company decided my car was old last september, and didn't warrant having the coverage, and with all the crap going on at home I never got around to scheduling the inspection they wanted. So I'm just SOL for now.
