I realize that a high 14 sounds incredibly slow, and it is, but considering what I've got to work with its pretty good.

Just got back from the dragstrip in Richmond, ran 4 times, and have a new personal best, however I know there is alot left to bring out.
Car has: Densecharger, Trick Flow Plenum, Steeda underdrives, magnaflow catback, Livernois PI Intake, Xcal2, H&R Sports, KYB AGX's and 285/35/18 Nitto 555's out back.

Previous Best:
60': 2.2
1/8 et: 10.0
1/8 mph: 70.53
1/4 et: 15.1
1/4 mph: 90

My first run I did after driving for 2 hours, so everything was quite warm.
Was running 38psi in the rear tires, and I don't remember what I had my struts/shocks set at.
rt: .14
60': 2.3
1/8 et: 9.7
1/8 mph: 74.4
1/4 et: 15.00
1/4 mph: 94

Second run I let the engine cool off for about 30 minutes, and dropped the pressure in the tires to 28psi. Scuffed the tires until I saw smoke.
rt: .39
60': 2.3
1/8 et: 9.6
1/8 mph: 76
1/4 et: 14.95
1/4 mph: 93.5

Third run I ran the car as is, just did an uneccesarily long burnout.
rt.: 57
60': 2.4
1/8 et: 9.8
1/8 mph: 74.5
1/4 et: 15.07
1/4 mph: 93.4

Fourth run I changed nothing, didn't do a burnout or scuff the tires at all.
rt.: .17
60': 2.36
1/8 et: 9.8
1/8 mph: 75.7
1/4 et: 15.11
1/4 mph: 92.3
I beat an SRT-4 on my last pass, yerrr!!

With my trap speeds I'm hoping I can hit a 14.5, I just can't figure out what to do with the 60', they're all alot worse than I thought they'd be.
Just thought I'd update youse guys on what a PI Intake and Xcal2 should do.

good work! your on the right track but ya with those traps you should be running mid 14s, just got to work on the 60ft and your problems solved. i'm having problems with my 60ft times too. havent run it this year so far with the new tires, 3:90 gears and magnaflowes but last years best was 2.2 60ft 9.4@77mph in 1/8 and 14.6@95mph in 1/4 this was with baldies and a messed up o2 senser so hoping for a big improvment this year. just to let you now were you stand with your times, which are pretty good for an auto.

youre running about the same 1/4 times i run... same 60's too. i would think with your mods youd be a lot faster than me! i should be running mid 14's the way i sit and my best trap speed so far has been 93.6. im hoping for high 13's once i do the PI Intake, PI cams and a tuner :dunno: i need a lot more practice!!!

My car is a 97 S281 convertible 4.6L (N/A) with an automatic.
All Saleen did was installed after-cat exhaust and a K&N on this vehicle. I ran

r/t .011
60' 2.221
330' 6.320
1/8 9.693
MPH 70.689

I was wondering which mods worked the best ET wise hp means nothing only pt A to pt B.the car is a bone stock Saleen.
I've looked at tuners, x-pipes, TB, and underdrives but these cars are not getting any faster with mods so I would be grateful for any help thanks.

The only thing I changed since my last run of 15.1@90mph was a PI Intake kit from Livernois Motorsports and an Xcal2.
By far, these have been the best mods that I've done, so I would explore those options.
Next I'm looking at getting some gears and some better tires to cut down on the 60' and hope to hit low 14's.

look into some "weld in" subframe connectors and upper and lower control arms for better 60's. i hear they help a lot and theyre on my future mod list!

Subs yes - the MM XL subs are excellent.
LCA's yes.
watch out for the Uppers.
They will help with launches, but if you get uppers and lowers,
and do alot of street driving, theres a good chance you'll damage your torque box.
I suggest you look into it.

Alitl8 - that would help.

You should look into what I'm saying about the uppers.
Call MM, and ask them about it - trust me.

Another option is to box the stock uppers. this will gibe you better thrust, at no risk to the sheetmetal of your car.

or for the price of "uppers and torque box reinforcement" I'd just get a panhard. performs better too!

funny you mention that... i just happen to have an extra set of stock uppers and lowers off a newer GT (02-03 i think). i was talking to a buddy that has a performance shop and he's going to box the uppers and lowers :dunno: he says it will be an improvement over stock at NO CHARGE!!

FREE IS GOOD... i learned that from my x-wife when she sold Tuperware ;)

Going back tonight, hopefully I'll be able to grab a 14.8 or better.
Will be making some changes, however.
Will be running with a 91 tune instead of a 94, and will be have the struts/shocks set for the strip.
In about two weeks I'll be ordering up some 4.10s and if I'm lucky pick up a set of pro-stars.

Well, went again tonight and have again a new personal best.
1st Run:
40psi in all tires, struts at soft, shocks at hard.
Running the 89 tune, slight scuffage on the tires.
RT: .28
60': 2.24
1/8 et: 9.5
1/8 mph: 75.33
1/4 et: 14.76
1/4 mph: 94.72
2nd Run:
Same setup as first, only I rolled right to the tree.
RT: .012
60': 2.35
1/8 et: 9.6
1/8 mph: 75
1/4 et: 14.92
1/4 mph: 94.66
3rd Run:
Same setup, scuffed the tires.
RT: .12
60': 2.26
1/8 et: 9.54
1/8 mph: 75.38
1/4 et: 14.75
1/4 mph: 94.40

I think I've taxed my current setup, I don't expect it to go any faster.
Hopefully within the next couple of weeks I'll have enough for some 4.10's, a Torque Converter and with any luck some Pro-stars.

those times aren't bad at all for what you have, now the only thing is why didn't you swap cams when you had that intake off? :dunno: That would have really helped you...even the PI cams add @15rwhp and help extend your powerband. Maybe in the future but keep it up it only gets better with more practice.

Didn't have the money for the cams and install.
However, this summer will be different, they're on the top of my shopping list.
