Hey all new guy here from tx, thought I'd make my first post here as this is the place I'll be spending most of my time. Gotta make em handle before they can go fast, right. I'll get to my question, just bought a 94 Cobra and on the drive home I noticed a loud rattle from the rear. I got home and start looking around the rear and notice the sway bar is loose,I can move it up and down 2". Look inside the control arms and no kind of bushings, just the 2 bolts. Spent alot of time on the net today looking for "rear sway bar bushings" and couldn't find anything. What exactly holds this in place and what do you call it?

The rear sway bar should be held on by 4 bolts. http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/HDW-5772A/1982-04-Mustang-Rear-Swaybar-Hardware-Kit It does not use bushings.
The lower control arm however does use 2 bushings.

Here's a picture of where the sway bar mounts:

It's possible that if it's only held on by the two bolts closest to the rear that there will some play in it.
Get some more bolts and secure it in place.

Welcome to the madness.
we need pics of the cobra.
the rattle could also be the exhaust hitting something under the car.
I think the rear sway bar is bolted to the lower control arms.

Thanks for the welcome, thanks also for the link. I think I see how it works now, the clip should capture the bar, mines not like that. I'll take another look after work tomorrow.
