Every cobra in Europe is imported privatly. The only SN95's that were 'officially' sold in the Netherlands for example were 3.8 auto coups and 5.0 auto converts.

But a lot of SN's were actually JDM-ified and sold new in Japan with the formentioned changes.

man don't tear the import pieces off then if its the only one. Seems kinda like ripping the horn off of the unicorn so you can tie up to your wagon.....

dutch, this is one nice ride! congratulations on your new Cobra  and then your new Saleens...

Ford Japan imported new Cobras and sold them on a regular basis from 1996 to 1999 (it said like "until the 1999 model, so excluding the termi i guess), though I dont know yet how many they had shipped. Only the import-Cobras had manual transmission as a standrad, the standard for GTs and V6 (they call them "Mustang G") was and is auto.

I actually spent the whole last week researching about Mustangs from Japan, since I i might get the chance to live in Tokyo for another year. Its not sure yet though. Thing is: Buying and keeping the SN95 in Japan for half a year would allow me to self-import a stang tax-free.

Used cars from Japan can be a true catch, because the Japanese tend to buy new cars every 3-5 years, and used cars are not that popular. Many vehicles have truely low milage, for commuting by car doesnt really make sense in Japan, especially in the bigger cities. The used cars themselves are really cheap in Japan. The costs await you later on, when registering the car, paying taxes and such. You need to prove that you own or rent a parking lot located max. 2 km. away from your house, otherwise you are denied the right to own a car. This can be troublesome for people living in central Tokyo, where parking costs 300-550 Dollar per month as an average.

I am glad glad that they didnt change the import stangs from LHD to RHD, so are you dutch I guess, hehe. It was somewhere written that they even transferred some Mustangs into RHD especially for Australia (dunno if that was done officially or not).

Please post some pics as soon as your new baby arrives.

sadly, yes.

Never saw any mystics in europe so far. Not on forums, nor on the market.
