I got a 96 V6 with a 5.0L swap. How should i inspect this car being that it is an OBD2 car. but has a motor out of an OBD1. Can i still just plug and play?

where did the computer come from? all the sn-95 v-6's were obd2.
If the puter came from a mustang it's obd1, if the puter came from an explorer it might obd1 or obd2

It depends on the state BUT you will have to register the car as the vin number on the body so its a 96. BUT in Massachusetts, you cant change the year of the engine when you go to have an inspection or change the type of inspection. So if you have a 00 Gt and you put a 85 5.0 carb in it, you will need to get that 85 to pass emissions for the 00. BUT if you put an 00GT motor in an 85 you only have to get it to pass 85 Standards. See what im saying.

Even still your best off to call a local inspection facility and see what their take on it is
