New noise from the front end

So, i just had a new ball joint installed on the right side of the car and had brakes put on both sides of the front. No alignment done and everything seems fine there.

Now here is the problem. Im hearing a noise coming from the front driver side now when im going 30-40 mph. It sounds like a JET air plane rolling down pavement... more of a deep rumble sound. Now this sound is new because i know its NOT my exhaust as i can push in the clutch and the noise is still there. What could it be?

Do you think its something with the brakes or what?
Only thing changed on the front end was the brakes and right side ball joint. I have the same old ugly probably near stock rotors.

I think im done with my car. Just going to let her sit in the garage till i get alot of money saved up. As you can tell by my current thread in "the garage".. it might be the best thing to do. So many problems that needs to be looked at im sure if i knew about cars like you guys do than ill be okay, but being im not car smart i get raped up the ass for small problems you guys fix yourselves :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead:

sounds like it might be wheel bearings. everybody here was just like you at some point in there lives. you can do most of these things with some basic tools, and a haynes/ chilton manual. and us of course.

If the sound was not there before they did the brakes, you should start there. Might not be a bad idea to bring it back to the guy and tell them it is making some noise from the brakes you just put on. If you determine that is where it is coming from.

Could be a wheel bearing, a tire w/ strange wear or worse.... Check and see if Mr. Mechanic tightened the lugs good! They are known to miss one every once in a while. This creates a weird roaring sound as the wheel hobbles around on the lug seats.

If the lugs are OK, try switching the LR & LF and see if it persists. If it does, that still points to a bearing. These are "sealed" units on these. While you drive it with a worn out ball joint, over time, the incorrect steering geometry can throw an unwanted wear pattern on a bearing that is virtually silent to you. When the ball joint is replaced, the geometry is corrected but, the wear pattern on the wheel bearing rears it's ugly head and howls. It's kinda like a domino effect.

When my wheel hub bearing was making noise the noise would go away when turning in the direction of the bad bearing. From the info i got on a number of these forums it will usually do that because you are as the car leans away from the bad bearing it take weight off that wheel. Do you notice it going away when you turn. If so I would say wheel hub bearing. That is an easy inexpensive (if done yourself) fix.

These newer Fords have a sealed hub bearing unit. You torque the large nut down and your done. No adjustment necessary. They are not as cheap as they used to be.

I am not exactly sure but I thought it was nearly 200lb/ft. I did both of mine about a year ago.
