New Paint

All right so im probably gonna get a new paint job sometime around March and i was wondering about how much it would cost.
I plan on keeping the same color (Bright Blue) or at least not changing much at all, and there is some body work that needs to be fixed also.

Depends on who you get to do it. Anywhere from a 299 maaco job to endless really. The show cars paint job is in the tens of thousands of dollars. Your probably looking at about 2k somewhere around there maybe a little extra depending on how hard they find it to remove the dent in the rear Quarter.

Yeah i was thinkin somewhere in the 2k area i defiantly don't need show car paint (although it would be sweet), and yeah that dent in the rear quater is pretty serious so thats gonna be pricy. But thanks!

Yeah the quality of the paint job is really the deciding factor, you can spend as much as you like but good paint jobs don't come cheap.

Well i'm lookin for a good quality paint job, not show car, but defiantly not maaco. I was thinkin 1-2k, would that be a pretty good paint job?

The only way to get a show car look, is to cut and buff the paint. It's almost impossible to get a nice mirror finish with the shoot and bake method. I feel sorry for the guys who pay over $3500 for a paint job. Candy paint's are old fashioned now. With todays technology a Metallic paint job, can and most always will look just like a Candy paint job, plus it will last longer. If you leave a Candy job outside too long, the colored clear starts to bleed.

It depends on the paint as well as who is shooting it. Typically it's about 3k for a base/clear paint job, comes out looking real slick. If you go with a cheaper single stage paint it might not look as nice but you could save your self some bills.

I painted my 1966 with a two stage base/clear, painted my 94 with a single stage, hard to tell the difference in pictures but its night and day when you see it in person

I'm guessing more around $3k for a quality paint job. I got a deal on mine, but I was priced anywhere from $2.5K to $4.5k on mine being painting which involved feathering out the flaking paint, sanding down the spray painted stripes, prepping the front bumper for paint, then a 2stage paint. I ended up paying a little over $2k I THINK. Looks real good, white with silver metallic and metalflake, looks like regular white until the light hits it or its next to a regular white, then it really stands out. But I got a hellacious deal for it and they did cut a few corners so its not PERFECT but its good enough for me.
