new spark plugs

so went to the local parts store to get plugs today. I did a search on here prior to going and it seemed like most performance oriented guys use a copper plug. So I thats what i got. I picked up Autolite 764's, come in a red box with NASCAR stamped all over it lol and they say copper core. These are the plugs everyone talks about right? I ask because the guy at the counter tried to give me Autolite 764's but they said double platinum so I figured they arent copper they say Platinum. I asked him and the moron said" oh. I thought they were the same" so I gave him the dumb stare and said
C-O-P-P-E-R please. and he came back with the red nascar box. So.... lol these are they right ones or are the platinums the ones I want?

Copper is good you just have to change them more frequently.

yea I read that all when I researched our forum just got a little confused when the tard at the counter tried to sound like he knew what he was talking about. I can live with a 30k mile replacement when they only cost like a $1.65 a piece, so no harm no foul. thanks guys
