Ok, I know this same thing bugs everyone here. When I am driving at night I like to have my fog lights on even though it's not foggy...I think it looks cool. Any ways, when I turn on my brights why do the fog lights go away?!?!? I turned on my brights so I can see better! Why did Ford do this? I know it's not a safety reason, because I will take my brights away as soon as there is another car coming my way. Everyone will, because it's the law! So what I would to see is someone who could possibly explain this phenominom, tell us how we can fix it, and make it a sticky so we can all drive with our brights and our fog lights on together...My guess would be hot wiring the switch for the fog lights but I am not sure if something else controls them....Anyone?

every vehicle is set up this way factory if you do the fog light fix by taping a hot from the convertable harness..(your car has it even if its not a vert) you can turn the fogs on with just the park lights plus they stay on when the brights are on ...BINGO

you might end up damaging your headlight relay (too much amperage being drawn)

lol i think you can handle it....it involves cutting 2 wires and connecting one back up haha...i think my 15 month old could handle it...the worst part is taking the center councol apart and getting to the connectors....screw poping the pins out just cut them but leave some length to them so you can get a connector back on it

Everyone is right, it wont hurt anything. I did the same thing to my Durango, even though Dodge claimed it could not be done. Manufacturers do it because there is actually a law against running aux lighting with the high beams, somewhere somehow there is something written that high beams can not go over so many watts of total output, when factoring in the watage of high beams and the fog lights those numbers exceed the legal limit. Honestly it is a ticketable offence, but it is kind of like window tint.... They need a way to prove it BEFORE the ticket can be written. The only way you might get written on it is if you really light up some cop sitting along side the road in the middle of nowhere while he is sleeping. :hammer:
