Well guys, I don't need to polish my car, but however my girlfriends 03 Maxima has a lot of light scratches and swirl marks along with some oxidation. She keeps saying she needs to get her car re-painted but I tell her all the time that it can be corrected. I want to prove to her it can. But here is where I need your help.

I already have a high speed sander/polisher with 10 different speeds. Like this one,

But this leads me to my next question. What do I need to finish the job correctly. I was going to buy these
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3-WAFFLE-FOAM-PAD-BUFFING-POLISHING-KIT-Buff-Car-Polish-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2eaddf5a67QQitemZ200485591655QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

And I already have a ton of mircofiber towels. Megiars gold class car wash, meguiars polish, and gold class wax.
But what else would I need and or would be able to use that I could get from an auto-zone as far as sealant and maybe a better cutting polish?

Thanks guys appreciate the help.

I'm thinking the blue pad will do the job if it's light scratches and swirls, do you have any pics of these scratches it's really had to tell when the cars not in front of me. What kind of Meguiars plolish is it? Have you ever polished a vehicle before?

what meguiars polish do you have? gold class wax seems to be good stuff.

i wouldnt use a high speed buffer to polish either....

the best polish ive ever bought out of a store is the ultimate compound which is good for taking out light and medium scratches and swirls. youd be best off going to obsessive detail and geting the megs 205/205 combo which comes with the porter cable 7424, 4 (good) polishing pads, and megs 105 heavy cut polish and 205 which is your light finishing polish. worked very well for me today i just finished detailing the mach and its flawless.

Check Amazon. Autogeek.net and other places for pad combo's but your going to need some type of polish. I would recommend the Menzerna line since it has capabilities for a lot of working time on the paint. Some orange, white, and blue pads should do the trick. I use lake country pads and those are the colors I have.

So that buffer wont do the job?
I was thinking about hitting it with a orange pad with Menzerna power finish, then the blue pad with menzerna super finish, then the black pad with the Meguiars gold class wax.

still need help guys.
I want to use her car as the learning car and then polish mine eventually! But I know I wont mess hers up. I just want to get the best results

well from what i know (which still isnt close to everything) is that a high speed buffer is a little too harsh for polishing. thats why its called a buffer.

i think youd get better results with the orbital polisher and the combo i was talking about.
