After thirty years of wanting one, I finally got it.

I've wanted a Jeep since I was old enough to know what a Jeep was. Every time I came close to getting one, something would come up and keep me from it. Either I couldn't afford it at the time, it would get sold before I could get to it, etc...

Finally, I have my Jeep. 1994 Wrangler YJ 4-cyl 5-speed with a hard top. It's even a color I like! Has American Racing wheels on it that are similar to the "Renegade" wheels of that era. Even has a spare to match. The craziest part is, I got it for $600!

The only real issues this thing has is that the floor pan under the driver's feet is rusted through (I have an old Danger: High Voltage sign covering the hole right now) and a couple of rot-spots on the frame. Nothing that affects how it drives.

Even though I would have rather had the 4.0L Inline Six engine, this little 4-popper actually gets surprisingly good fuel mileage. I'm willing to trade some extra power for that, since I drive 45 minutes to work and back each direction.

Before I came across this one, I had actually planned on building myself one from scratch. Every single part is available for them aftermarket, from the frame to the body tub. This one does need some rebuilding in spots, but I enjoy the fact that it can be driven as-is while I fix it.

Most of them in this area (even in worse shape than this) still go for over 2k too. People seem to think just because it says JEEP on the side it's made of platinum or something. Granted, they're one of the more capable off-road vehicles out there, but still...
