made it. plexy glass. it is supported. it's attache directly to piece of aluminum that is bolted to the trunklid. it's handled highway speeds quite well so far. I have to see how well it does at a track day but it also has the option of two struts I can attach if need be. I honestly think it looks pretty good too! lol.

I just noticed you are in Sac, we will have to meet up sometime. I'm in process of installing a MM roll bar. Very time consuming lol. Like your approach to mods so far.

One of the guys I race with has a similar setup on his SN. I don't think it does a whole lot at our speeds (140ish max, but mostly 70-100), I know he did get some flutter and he had to make it lower to get rid of it.

I think Griggs had a duckbill for the SN sat one time, a little pricey, but a whole lot lower then these NASCAR style fins.

hell yeah man. have to come out and autox with us in the sacremanto chapter scca group! and yeah rich v they did make one that looked similar but was pretty pricey. I will have to take what you said into consideration but this isn't actually as tall as it looks. it's about 5 inches tall i would say. and based off the class i'm technically in in autox...those guys go the full 10" they're allowed.

To me those things seem useless unless ur really going fast, also if that is actually going to do something its going to make the rear of the car go down and it will try to lift the front of the car wich means less traction for steering. Airplanes go up and down because of something and that wing does the same effect as an elevator. You should get a spoiler in the front bumper to put downforce on the nose of the car so the downforce will be balanced across the whole car.

yes you are quite correct for the most part. you also have to think that the forces put on the car already give it a decent amount of downforce. you're just getting a little ahead of me cuz that was one of the next things i was planning on doing to this car actually. this all being said right now it isn't useless because it still does help plant the rear. at the speeds of autox, it helps enough in the rear but doesn't work so hard as to lift the front end off the ground.

and surprisingly going really fast isn't the only time something like this helps. i know many people that autocross with nationals proven cars that are running wings and bigger spoilers than this because it helps that much.

The aerodynamics work at any speed but the problem with this type of wing is that while it can create downforce it will also create a lot of drag which isnt always the best tradeoff. This type of wing is used a lot in the autox world because the relatively low speeds won't get maximum benefit from a true aerofoil style wing and the drag tradeoff isnt that in this particular situation.

number 11 is my favorite # and for some reason i like his style in wheels. lol. yeah its just a test piece to see how well it works and as you have said autox is one of the places where you can get away with it.
