my 95 mustang heater only blows cold air replaced the thermostat. stil no heat heater core is fine. the temp gauge is showing normal temp i noticed the engine fan seems to be running quite a bit when it does turn off the heater will blow cold air for a lil bit till the fan starts again and the whole time it shows normal temp.

if it smells like anti-freeze and your passenger floorboard is wet its your heater core. good news! $30 part! Bad news - 6-8hrs of labor if your fast............
you say heater core is fine, my question to you is how do you know?? if youve changed the thermastat and its not over heating than more than likely thats your problem. if the radiator was clogged then youd be overheating and overflowing, if water pump wasnt flowing correctly then youd again be overheating. that only leaves 2 possibilties 1) heater core is bad, or 2) the control cable isnt actuating the door that diverts air flow from fresh air to blowing through the heater core.
1) try backwashing your heater core. youd be suprised how much garbage is in it if youve never done it. best thing to do is go get a radiatior flush and follow directions before back flushing heater core.
2) drop the glove box and trace the cable that runs from your climate temp control knob to the door that diverts the air. it may be hard to reach but you should be able to find the end where it connects and just make sure its adjusting when you turn the knob.
3)if all else fails and you still dont have heat then buy some carharts and good driving gloves!!!

With the car at normal temp, go under the hood and feel the two heater hoses that come out of the firewall. Both should be really hot.
Infact just unhook both from the engine (at the metal tube thats on the intake) and run a garden hose thru it. If its clogged you might be able to blow and silt/crud out and itll flow good.
If you do this and it still doesnt get hot inside the car, the cable actuating blend door is broken and youll have to pull the dash to fix the problem anyway.

its not uncommon for the flapper-doors to litterally disinigrate (the hinges) and your flapper-door is stuck on cold.
ill see if i can find my old condensor housing and take a look for you. i have an old housing for sale, if that turns out to be your problem.

hm. not sure on the fan kicking on. put your hand on the fan housing and have a buddy turn the car on. see if you can feel the fan turn on. if you dont, turn the heater on and see if you can feel it turn on. also, you can pull your glove box and see if there are any pinched vaccum lines under the dash.
