got the gt40 intake on. only problem i had is i plugged one of the vacuum lines that i wasn't suppose to and it had a radicle idle. sounded like it had a cam. just hooked up all the vacuum lines and she pured and had a smooth idle........

I guess my last question is, is that i didn't realy notice that much of a gain in hp like people said i would. Any reason why??? here's a list of my mods

mod list: cold air intake , 70mm tb, gt40 intake with 1 inch spacer,3" aluminum radiatior, headers w/ full exhaust dumped, under drive pulley kit, msd ignition, smog eliminator bracket pulley, stage 2 b&m shift kit w/ 2600 stall, and full suspension w/ upgraded brakes.

I didnt think the intake alone was that big of a jump in power?

Most of the cars I've seen with a H/C/I don't even hit 300hp if I'm not mistaken...

hey, I just put on a gt40 intake too, with gt40x heads, and my car idles like its got a cam too but I wasnt sure what it was, I thought it probably tps or iac, what vaccum line gave you trouble, I also did a 70mm fox throttle body setup, so somthing could be wrong there too and the butterfly only opens like a 1/4 of the way so I have to figure that out too. Its weird cause I heard people say that theres a big difference with a gt40 intake swap too.

make sure you have the 2 vacuum lines on the back of the intake on and cap off the ones up front your not using. even though you might have the smog pump off, have the egr vac lines hooked up to it, and make sure the pcv valve coming from the fuel line rail has a vacuum line goin into the 3 way fitting on the elbow adapter. If all that is good, check your timing. my first step was checking the vacuum lines.

You should notice some gain. The stock intake manifold actually starves the stock E7 heads. According to MM&FF you should see on average 15-25 or so HP.

Happens to some people but are you sure the gasket is seated in the right spot and not blocking the ports? I'm not saying I got 25hp from it but I did feel a gain, not too much down low up top for sure. Felt as much as when I switched from the stock 4-cat mid to an offroad x.

yea your not going to notice very much with just the intake. Now if you threw a cam in there with it you would feel a little more to take advantage of the air flow of it but then your heads are holding you back. Put a set of heads and cam on it and you will feel a big difference.

i have the world sr heads with 2.02 intake and 1.6 exhaust i'm just waitn on my budget so i can install all of it the right way and not half fast. from what i've read, they said you still should be able to notice a difference in the intake swap. at least my engine breaths better :).

Just wondering if i could hit 300 hp with this combo and a decent size cam??? My goal is to hit low 13's n/a with 4:10's in rear
