Got to the track, did a burnout in 2nd gear, seemed to do the trick, but my times weren't what I was expecting. The only thing I can think of from holding it back are: I had 3/4 tank of gas, or, the clutch fork is still rubbing on the header, and not engaging the clutch all of the way.

So, here are my 2 best times. I got like 6 passes in, but these are the best ones.

60ft- 1.7760
330ft- 504940
1/8 ET- 8.5839
1/8 MPH- 79.38
1000' ET- 11.2459
1000' MPH- 92.00
1/4 ET- 13.4691
1/4 MPH- 103.45

My best passes seemed to be when I launched the car at 5K. But, when I'd shift into 2nd, the motor seemed to have a pause, or delay, before it wanted to get back on track. I also noticed when I held out on the shifts longer, it ran better. Shift points were 5.4k in 1st, 5.3k in 2nd, and 5k the rest of the way.

Idk, maybe its just blaintly a mid 13 second car and I shouldn't expect anything more..

Thatss funny you ssay that, a few guys I know that have 94/95 GT's say the same thing.

Throw some good tires, launncch the thing, its easy to get into the 13s.


My main mods are a Cobra motor, 4.10s, and full exhaust.

you need to shift that thing at like 6 or so man, your cutting good short times but you definatly need to shift that thing higher 5k is too low. has the vehicle been dynoed (your looking for where you have a steady drop off...

Thats what i was thinking too

my 2 valve is shifted at 62-6300 and my buddies 4v mach 1 is shifted aroudn 6500 ... you should be at least as high as mine

I shifted at 5400 in 1st, 5300 in 2nd, and 5000 the rest. I can feel power drop off after 5500..

I don't plan on getting it dyno'd.

Yea, that's a good idea. Won't I need a wide band? I need to buy one anyway for when I spray.

Also, some guy PM'd me about a mail order tune, that allows the car to run on any cam without the computer freaking out. Any innput on this? It was something like 325 bucks, seemed expensive for a chip.
