It's doable just be prepared to drive ur ass off . All I had was eiabach pro kit springs cold air intake bbk under drive pullies 3.73's msd coil packs. And a short shifter with et street slicks 1.6-1.7 60fts motor had over 200,000kms 13.75 at 98mph launching at 4400-4800 and powershifting the slow turd it weighed 3050 with me in it. And I'm 200lbs

I think that weight contributed to a lot of time. The norm is probably closer to 3500 so that could have easily cut a half second of time off your e.t.

But your right, if he launches the hell out of it and cuts 1.6 60 foots he might have a chance

Nitrous is great if setup properly .Like with Window switch ,wot switch I always use wet kits and you need to run a shade cooler plugs and pull some timing and have a good fuel pump . I sprayed my npi car after a while . Now it has a whole new combo I canned the whole setup

Heck, if you know what your doing then Nitrous is the way to go. I want cams, LT's, pullies, t/b+plenum, and a nice tune. I want to put down close to 300rwhp. I'm ready for the 13's when all the mods are complete. Should be fun setup! Or if I have green at the end of the year, just go for the trickflow setup, I've been drooling over the heads ever since they came out in 08/09. Then with the same mods 330-350rwhp wont be out of the norm!

Well my ride is a 98'. I have a stock NPI intake, Accufab TB and elbow, CAI, LT's no cats and dumps, 4.10's and a tune at full weight. My car dynos at 225 hp and 305 tq to the wheels. Heres my proof you can get a NPI motor into the 13's...

Yea I know it's doable and those are some good times. The biggest thing is knowing how to shift and be fast as you can at it

Yes many years at the track, plus I autox it once a month as well.

As for the 1/4 mile. The key is what RPM you shift at in each gear. In 1st gear I shift at 6k, anything less and it will bog slightly, 2,3, and 4th gear I shift at 5.3k cause thats when the power starts to decrease and at that point you are going down in HP. Get some seat time and a solid set up and you'll be fine..

I do have a Tremec 500 trans, stage 2 clutch, 31 spline Moser axles and launch at 4.5k. Uppers and lowers. I will say this, once I got my LCA's i shaved .3 off my ET simply by hooking better..

The NMRA is next weekend. I'll be running the TS comp 5th year in a row. Can't wait...

Good info. I'm going to be acquiring a TKO600, I already have a good portion of bolt ons, with 3.73 rear so this year I want to go to track and practice on driving. Good points 98rocket.

mine (100%NPI) made 194 to the wheels:

full bolt ons with the exception of a TB/spacer/plenum, injectors, MAF, and tune.

fender-fed CAI, FRPP ceramic coated shorty headers, bassani catted x pipe, flowmaster catback, 3 pulley UD kit, 4.10 gears (some debate on whether or not gears free up power...) clutch, posi, aluminum driveshaft, etc. etc. etc. ..... .

194.... puke.

Good stuff, its really all about the 60 foot and driving...im sure those drag wheels help a bit as well.

225 is pretty good for a NPI and your trap speed shows you are making every it of it.

My NPI when it was running 14.0-14.1 was trapping 101-102 mph consistently, just didnt get out of the hole worth a shit with the auto.

Its not that hard to get a NPI to the 13s if you know how to get there, problem is most people only add power and think thats all it takes.

Thx,Yeah I've never seen 100 in the 1/4..Hilarious I know, but once I get my PI heads PP, cammed, tune, then installed..Hopefully running mid 12's. I'll be happy! My true passion is the twisties. I autox once a month and that kind of power is perfect for what I want to do. Also when I hit the 1/4 mile I'll be setting decent times there..

Might I add, a Gt mustang is a blank platform that you can make your own. Its not special edition that you can buy off the shelf. Thats one of the many reasons I own this year. I made it what it is today. Plus its paid off..
Make it what you want, boosted, N/A whatever. You can make a good motor from these 2V's.

I always say this in my own words. You are a little limited when you have svt product because it has its own looks and power, so deviating away from what it truely is makes it weird, basically changing the styling, or changing the motor I would never do. With a GT, everything is fair game because the model is dime a dozen, and its cool to see different setups. This is how I look at it.

In front of you
"problem is most people only add power and think thats all it takes."

Are you insinuating there is more to going fast than big numbers? preposterous
