how much of a pull should the 02ish PI mustangs have on a 97 npi?

i had a run in with one last night and he spun off the line so i waited a second til he got traction, then i went n had about a car length on him and he still never caught me like halfway thru 3rd... :dunno:
i was quite impressed. i have an o/r H-pipe, and magnaflow cat back but i dont think that really effect much power wise..

anyone else had a run in with any?

Ive ran a few...I killed a bone stock 04 from a dig....he hung with me from a roll..

I raced a 03 stang with some bolt on's from a roll and it was pretty much even untill 80 where he started pulling.

It really depends on whos driving the cars. A good running 5 speed NPI can run 14.5 with a good driver...ive seen it happen. A stock 5 speed pi usually runs low 14- mid 14 with average driver.

Stock for stock, they SHOULD pull us but I would imagine it wouldnt be that much of a pull untill 60-80 mph.

WHen I was all npi I felt like my car had more torque and pulled better than my brothers pi car down low.

He has bolt ons, tuner, 4.10s and is good for about mid 13. I raced him from a dig and pulled a car untill about 80 where he just flew by me.

Yes, they will post better 1/4 mile times but when your street racing, its a differant story.

our cars dont have torque up top, and we fall on our faces. I have just about every car at the track that runs simialr times to the 1/8th mile, but after that they wizz by me. and at 1/8th im running 73MPH.

No car has torque on top. I've raced a few PI GT's and they pull on me in every gear except for first. Since I've done the PI swap I haven't had the chance to run a NPI or PI GT. I'll let everyone know what happens when I do.

i've raced a few but off the line i get a little boost from the higher gears "3.27" and an auto so i don't spin... i hook, but it doesn't help much b/c i've always lost to pi gt's. I think if you are racing a 99 up and you pull on him with a npi car... its either they are just messing with you or they have a v6... just my .02

A car with 50 more hp SHOULD pull you, but like said it was probably the driver. Nice win though

guess i'll put my .02 in also

my friend has a 03 gt/auto. intake/catback/275s

i stomped his ass hard. from digs and rolls... not bad for npi 5speed/ intake/orh/flows/springs/bald tires.

my car runs 9.34s 1/8. yet to see quarter

you can feel the power in pi gts vs the power you feel in npi and you'll say the pi feels better. but things like weight and driver make the biggest differences. espically at tracks.

A 5 speed npi can run auto pi times. I had a 9.34 1/8 and a 14.4 at 97.7 with 2.25 60 on one of my slips...so you should be about 14.5- 14.6
