you guys crack me up...lol. Soooo when you pass the ECU part of the emissions test with no cel, what will you do when they simply look under the car, or hook up the sniffer to the tail pipe?

If you say they dont look under the car, or they dont do a sniffer, I KNOW they arent going to fail you for a CEL.

i have people who will pass me as long as i can pass the obd2 hookup portion.

and I know i can turn off the cel with a tuner.... but that still won't let me pass emissions.... mil eliminators will let me pass.

LOL bow, the CEL goes off because you turn off the rear o2's, its the same as MIL's, just a permanent solution to your problem

you turn them off... you don't send a signal to the computer saying that you have cats....

that's why you can't pass...

it will show up unsupported while the mil's will read as if you have cats...

That makes no sense at all, either they run the OBDII car on the roller's with a sniffer (like California) or they simply plug into the port an check for "system readiness" (like Ohio).

At any rate, you don't seem to get that MIL eliminators DON'T WORK on some car's. So just keep trying, apparently changing them is really fun for you.

you just cant help some kids.... :nonono:

BUT, I will try one more time. Another trick is a spark plug non fouler, you can get them from an auotparts store. there is a way to modifiy them to move your 02 sensor out further so they dont get such a direct hit from the exhaust.

BTW, didnt you say you had a lean code for you FRONT 02 sensors in another thread because of your long tubes? If the rears cause you an inspection issue, the CEL from the fronts will as well.

It's really just a 3 dollar resistor from Radio Shack, if you wanted really bad, you could put different resistors in ther, or get all fancy with an ohm meter to get it perfect.

My car (OBDI, so they actually run it and do a visual), passed E-check here with the friggin smog pump unhooked.

i don't have a lean CEL i just looked into the computer and the front o2 sensors read lean.

and yes i do know about the spark plug foulers and i was going to try that also

how did you looking into the ECU?
some genesys computer we had at tech school. I could look into every voltage being sent from the pcm and it showed right next to those the specs that they should be at and it also showed what any of the sensors had to say.

Like I have a "pass anti-theft" trouble code that came up which i have no clue what it means. It didn't throw a CEL or anything but it spotted it as a trouble code. it was probably cause my door was open or something and the theft light was flashing.

Kk, i am going to teach you an ancient trick we 5.0 owners have done for a while now. Take heed my young padawon for this technique has long since forgotten from the ancient jedi masters

1) Take out your instrument bezel

2) Take out the bulb to your SES light

3) Repeat the opposite of step 1

4) Turn the key, OMG! No ses light. Its amazing! :D
