odometer doesnt work. fix?

The odometer on my 94 mustang does not work. How can i fix it. The PO installed gears. could this have anything to do with it?

Maybe if a new speedo driven gear was also installed so make sure the VSS is connected at the tranny.

Did your trip counter stop worked as well? both mine stopped at the same time. I need to fix that while I got the motor out of it.

I got a similar problem but I think mine has more to due with wiring. I had a mechanic take out this annoying alarm system and I think they butchered the electrical because my clock and interior headlamp doesn't work either.

if your cruise control is working then the vss and it's gear are good. If the cruise doesn't work, the first place I'd look is the cluster gear.

both quit at the same time. so that makes me wonder if its in the the cluster or not. My cruise isnt hooked up so i cant reallhy test that. Where is this VSS hooked up on the tranny?

just make sure that all the conections on the trans ar hooked up and properly seated. i replaced my speedo gear a while before my odo an trip stopped. so i know mine is not the wires to the trans.
